Hungry in Bar Harbor? Try the long established Side Street Café, a short walk from the Village Green in the center of town. It’s busy, especially during summer, but the food is good, reasonably priced, the atmosphere relaxed and the service is friendly.

This past winter they expanded and remodeled the business to accommodate their growing clientele. We had a nice lunch the day we stopped in and they were one of the establishments in town hosting the “Derby Day” celebration. Some of the hats were already arriving.

Their website has a full menu and I believe they have reservation call ahead and take out options.

Construction wasn’t quite finished when I took the pictures for this post and the day was wet and overcast but by the time you visit it will have a more finished look.
